Denise M. Brockwell, Paralegal
Denise has worked in the legal profession for over 35 years. She began her career as a Legal Assistant in 1985 for a firm in California assisting three attorneys in the area of bankruptcy and debt collections. She continued her career in the legal field in Pennsylvania, and in 1993 until present in South Carolina providing support for attorneys in the areas of bankruptcy law, family law, personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, civil litigation, Social Security Disability, Appellate, municipal/local law, as well as office management. Denise has attended approximately 10 trials in her career for criminal defense cases as well as personal injury/civil litigation cases assisting attorneys in the preparation and logistics of trial.
Moriah L. Johnson, Paralegal
Moriah is a litigation paralegal who assist in all phases of litigation, from inception through discovery and trial. She started her career in the legal profession in 2014 after graduating from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. She began working as a legal assistant for a small firm in West Virginia assisting two attorneys in the area of family law and criminal defense. She continued on to Charlotte, North Carolina where she worked for a mid-sized firm assisting five attorneys in the area of family law and personal injury. Moriah relocated to South Carolina in 2018 where she has primarily provided support for attorneys in the areas of family law, workers’ compensation, employment, and civil litigation. In her career she has attended a number of trials for family law as well as civil and criminal defense cases assisting attorneys in all aspects of preparation being a “file-to-trial” paralegal.
Shelley E. Stafford, Paralegal
Shelley has worked in the legal profession in Columbia for over 25 years. After obtaining a Bachelors’ degree from the University of South Carolina, she began her career as a Receptionist and Legal Assistant, assisting with estate administration, regulatory matters for utilities, business litigation, civil and criminal litigation, as well as foreclosure and bankruptcy matters. Since 2003 she has primarily provided support for attorneys in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, insurance defense, governmental and law enforcement liability defense. During her career, she has assisted with logistics and preparation for numerous trials in South Carolina, attending approximately 10 trials in civil litigation matters.
Juanita P. Roof
Juanita has worked in Administrative support for 48 years, and for the last 20 years she has worked in the legal profession as a Receptionist and Legal Assistant. In 2000, she worked for a firm in Lexington consisting of 7 attorneys, providing support for attorneys in the areas of criminal defense, probate, civil litigation, Social Security Disability, family law, personal injury, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation and bookkeeping. She is also fluent in Spanish, and assisted in helping the Hispanic community with their needs. In 2016 she followed 3 of the attorneys to a new firm in West Columbia, and then joined us in late September of 2019.
