Denise M. Brockwell, Paralegal

Denise has worked in the legal profession for over 35 years. She began her career as a Legal Assistant in 1985 for a firm in California assisting three attorneys in the area of bankruptcy and debt collections. She continued her career in the legal field in Pennsylvania, and in 1993 until present in South Carolina providing support for attorneys in the areas of bankruptcy law, family law, personal injury, medical malpractice, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, civil litigation, Social Security Disability, Appellate, municipal/local law, as well as office management. Denise has attended approximately 10 trials in her career for criminal defense cases as well as personal injury/civil litigation cases assisting attorneys in the preparation and logistics of trial.


Diane M. Crutchfield, Paralegal

With a background that includes employment in education, benefits consulting, and insurance brokerage, Diane brings over 12 years of experience in all phases of civil litigation to her position as a litigation paralegal at Crowe LaFave, LLC.  Most of Diane’s legal experience is working in insurance defense with a brief interlude supporting the General Counsel of South Carolina’s largest employer.  Seeking better tools and knowledge, Diane completed her MBA from Columbia International University in 2019. As a tenacious factfinder, she has provided support for numerous attorneys both in State and Federal Court. While striving to treat others with kindness and respect, her goal is to secure the best outcomes for our clients by providing the best preparation for our attorneys in every phase of the litigation process.


Shelley E. Stafford, Paralegal

Shelley has worked in the legal profession in Columbia for over 25 years. After obtaining a Bachelors’ degree from the University of South Carolina, she began her career as a Receptionist and Legal Assistant, assisting with estate administration, regulatory matters for utilities, business litigation, civil and criminal litigation, as well as foreclosure and bankruptcy matters. Since 2003 she has primarily provided support for attorneys in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, insurance defense, governmental and law enforcement liability defense. During her career, she has assisted with logistics and preparation for numerous trials in South Carolina, attending approximately 10 trials in civil litigation matters.
