About Doug
Doug began his legal career in November 2000. For the last 15 years, his practice has focused on insurance defense, including: automobile personal injury matters, insurance coverage, and premises liability.
Doug brings a wealth of diverse legal experience to Crowe LaFave, LLC. He has extensive experience in all Courts of South Carolina. Doug began his legal carrier as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina litigating hundreds of Post-Conviction Relief (PCR) matters. In 2004, he went into private practice in a general litigation practice. He litigated personal injury cases, construction defect cases, contract disputes, and Probate matters.
Doug earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and a Bachelor of Music Education, with a performance certificate in trumpet from the University of South Carolina. Doug is also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a bandsman in the Air Force Band of the Golden Gate/America’s Band in Blue. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California where he toured extensively performing concerts throughout the western United States and made several recordings with the band during his USAF career.
As an accomplished performing musician, Doug stays active in the music community performing regularly throughout South Carolina. He is a founding member of the Capital City Brass Quintet and the Palmetto Concert Band. Doug is also an avid bowler and tennis player.
